What he doesn’t know in leather goods is not worth knowing !

Gianni Contino

Gianni is a leather-goods guru with more then 30 years of experience, he manages the whole technical process from pattern design to prototyping, coordinating a pool of talented craftsmen and technicians.

He moves elegantly and is a key figure in the Scandicci Leather-goods District, where back in time worked for the likes of Ferragamo, leading all special projects, innovative materials and workmanships; Group Puig developing their brands Nina Ricci, Carolina Herrera and Paco Rabanne.

Later at Bally he was responsible for development and industrialization for all lines and Asia sourcing. Finally he built the Scandicci Development Centre at Hugo Boss, where he was leading global R&D activities for leather-goods collections.

Gianni is well appreciated for his ability to translate design inputs and turn them into beautiful bags… in constant dialogue with creatives and developers.

In a very early stage he was pioneering CAD software development, contributing to new solutions how to realize pattern designwork.

Material’s knowledge, skilled workmanship, experience and ingenuity are the ingredients of his everyday work, while he leads each new product into manufacturing.

What he doesn’t know in leather-goods is not worth knowing !
